A 402-megawatt offshore wind farm off the coast of Norfolk is to go-ahead after Norwegian developers Statoil and Statkraft made their final investment decision for the £1.5bn project on 1 July.

The decision follows the awarding of a 15-year government investment contract in April (endsreport.com/44052). This should guarantee £1.6bn worth of renewable electricity subsidies for Dudgeon over its lifetime, according to the National Audit Office (see p14).
