MPs lambast ‘appalling’ waste PFI agreements

A select committee has found that two council PFI projects have failed to deliver energy-from waste plants despite being given £213.5m of public funding over the last 15 years

MPs have attacked the “appalling” laxity of government private finance initiative (PFI) support for waste infrastructure.

The scathing criticism was made in a 17 September House of Commons Public Accounts Committee report on the government’s oversight of three waste PFI projects.
