Environmental consultancy market grows to £17bn globally

The global environmental consultancy sector grew by a steady 4% in 2012, with many leading firms targeting Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East

The worldwide environmental consultancy market grew by 3.6% in 2012 to £16.7bn, according to a report from Environment Analyst.

This was slightly ahead of the global economy’s 3.2% growth rate.

The UK environmental consultancy market grew by 5% in 2012.

A leading group of 22 consultancies outperformed their competitors by growing at 6.1% in 2012 to take a combined 44% share of the global market. Grontmij, Arcadis and Environmental Resources Management (ERM) emerged as the top three European market consultancies in 2012.
