UK lobbies EU for ‘light touch’ energy regulation

The UK and Czech Republic have been lobbying the EU for ‘a light touch system’ on the governance and enforcement of climate goals, an unpublished paper reveals

Both countries outline their support for the EU’s collective efforts towards setting energy goals. But they want this to remain an overarching strategic approach, not one that dictates the terms of implementation at a national level.
