Tidal lagoon power plans progress

Ministers have backed proposals to build a tidal lagoon in Swansea while planners have been notified about a Somerset project

Plans for generating electricity from tidal lagoons in the UK have been boosted by news of a large-scale project off the Somerset coast and government backing for a Swansea project.

Official support for the Swansea tidal lagoon grew after two government ministers publicly backed the project in December, and the government listed it in its 2014 National Infrastructure Plan (endsreport.com/46519).
