EA updates standard rules for digestate and soils

The Environment Agency is updating standard rules for construction and land reclamation, digestate storage and soil recycling

The Environment Agency (EA) is updating standard rules for construction and land reclamation, digestate storage and soil recycling.

In its 14th consultation on standard rules, which closes on 20 March, it outlines a number of changes to standard permits in England.1

One part tightens mobile plant rules for storing large amounts of waste, particularly liquids.

The EA also proposes to replace four existing standard rule sets on the use of wastes in construction and reclamation activities with a single new rule set and risk assessment.
