DEFRA and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) will begin to deliver sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) through local planning authorities, even though there is doubt that this approach will work.

Most respondents to a consultation on SuDS in the autumn said the plans “would not deliver sustainable drainage which would be maintained” (endsreport.com/45935).
