Funding for community waste prevention projects

Ten waste prevention projects designed to boost the circular economy have received total funding of £300,000.

They will all be involved in the first of three phases of the Innovation in Waste Prevention (IWP) scheme, which is designed to help innovative community-based waste prevention, re-use and repair activities get off the ground.

The scheme, which is managed by WRAP, is part of the government’s waste prevention programme and will provide £800,000 over two years (endsreport.com/42050).
