Thames tidal flood defence inspection under way

The Environment Agency has begun a detailed inspection of Thames tidal flood defences to ensure the system is fit for purpose

The defences to be inspected include the Thames Barrier and 350km of flood walls and embankments, smaller barriers, pumping stations and flood gates.
