WRAP Cymru to benefit from £10m funding boost

WRAP in Wales is to benefit from a £10m cash injection, suggesting a willingness from the government to fund the country’s transition to a circular economy

The Welsh government has increased its funding for the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) Cymru by 41%.

The £9.5m of grant funding, announced on 29 June for three years from October, is a significant boon to the charity and suggests a willingness to fund the country's transition to a circular economy.

It is a notable increase on current funding levels, with WRAP Cymru having received just £2.7m in 2014/15.
