Firms urged to get ahead of the ISO 14001 revision curve

A final draft of the revised environmental management standard has been published and no more technical changes will be made before September

Companies and consultancies are being encouraged to start preparing for an important update to ISO 14001 over the summer.

The revised environmental management standard will be published in September, but it will barely differ from a final draft version of the document (FDIS) released on 3 July.

David Fatscher, head of market development for sustainability at the British Standards Institution (BSI), said there would not be any more technical changes. “Any changes that are made now will be editorial; a full stop or a comma.”
