WWF and Unilever announce deforestation partnership

A partnership between WWF and Unilever aims to raise awareness of the global threat to forests and protect one million trees

WWF and Unilever have announced a one-year, international partnership to engage consumers in the fight against deforestation, and save a million trees. 

The partners say they will help protect a million trees by supporting forest protection programmes in Brazil and Indonesia, which have historically had the highest rates of deforestation in the world. 

Consumers are invited to pledge their support at Unilever’s website and in August a social media campaign will be launched simultaneously in the UK, Brazil, Indonesia and the US to help consumers get involved in combating deforestation.
