MRF operators told to comply with sampling rules

Waste trade bodies have asked materials recovery facility operators to fulfil their reporting requirements under the sector’s code of practice after new data suggested low compliance levels

Since October, MRFs handling more than 1,000 tonnes of waste a year have been obliged to sample their input and output, and submit the figures to the Environment Agency (EA) via a platform managed by WRAP.
