A quarrying company has been forced to pay more than £30,000 for polluting two brooks in Peterborough and acting without a discharge permit.

Mick George Ltd was sentenced on 19 June at Peterborough crown court after pleading guilty to breaching regulations 12(1)(b) and 38(1)(a) of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010. The company was fined £20,000 with £10,088 costs.
