The Green Investment Bank (GIB) and Equitix have announced a £5m energy-efficient LED retrofit programme for UK commercial buildings.

Equitix, an infrastructure delivery and management firm, will invest £2.5m in the project through its energy-saving investments fund, in which GIB is a cornerstone investor. This funding will in turn mobilise another £2.5m of private sector capital from Equitix’s energy-efficiency fund.

Energy-efficiency specialist Climate Energy is the project developer, with “a robust pipeline of opportunities”, starting with global aviation supplier GKN Aerospace’s Falcon Yard facility on the Isle of Wight.
