WRAP Cymru to benefit from £10m boost

WRAP in Wales is getting a multimillion pound funding boost, suggesting a willingness from the government to fund the country’s transition to a circular economy

The Welsh government has increased its funding for WRAP Cymru by 41%.

The £9.5m of grant funding, for three years from October, is a major boon for the charity and a notable increase on current funding levels. WRAP Cymru received only £2.7m in 2014/15 (endsreport.com/46440).

Two years ago, DEFRA cut WRAP funding in England by 40%, which prompted the organisation to register as a charity (endsreport.com/40060).
