Ofgem publishes draft guidance on biomass sustainability criteria

The energy regulator is asking for views a document advising operators on how to comply with new Renewable Heat Incentive rules

Energy regulator Ofgem has produced draft guidance for operators needing to demonstrate compliance with new biomass sustainability criteria under the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).

Meeting the criteria will become a statutory requirement to retain the subsidies after 5 October for non-domestic installations using biomass fuel and for biogas plants.

Ofgem published the document for consultation on 13 July.
