Continued decline in rivers, birds and priority species

The condition of England’s rivers, birds and other priority species is continuing to deteriorate, according to a DEFRA assessment of the state of the natural environment.

The report, published on 23 July, contains a set of indicators created to track progress on ambitions set out in the previous government’s natural environment white paper.
