Farm fined for cheese spreading offence

A dairy farm has been fined for illegally spreading waste and its director and a business partner have been prosecuted for further waste and water offences

A dairy farm has been prosecuted for offences related to the handling of cheese waste. Its director and a business partner have also been fined for separate waste and water offences.

Devon-based Parkham Farms Ltd pleaded guilty to spreading liquid cheese onto land using a method that did not have an agricultural benefit and was in breach of its permit conditions.

The offence took place in April 2014 and was investigated by the Environment Agency (EA).
