Mixed views on Green Deal cashback plan

A trade body has concerns that the government's cashback scheme could lead to boom and bust, but others are positive

There are concerns that the Green Deal cashback scheme could create a boom and bust situation in the energy efficiency market.

The effect could be similar to that which has affected the solar PV industry over the past year following the introduction of feed-in tariffs (ENDS Report, July 2012)

The energy and climate department (DECC) earlier this month launched a £125m cashback fund to kickstart consumer uptake of its flagship home energy efficiency scheme (ENDS Report, October 2012).
