DfT announces further boost for electric vehicles

Newly announced funding awards for electric vehicle charge points should help maintain growth in the sector, amid signs it could be faltering

The Department for Transport (DfT) has announced the 2013/14 winning bidders for a share in a £37m fund to support electric vehicle charge points. The package was originally launched in February.

The awards, announced by business minister Michael Fallon and transport minister Norman Baker on 31 July, are intended to offset costs of installing charge points in hundreds of streets, NHS trusts and stations across the UK.
