One third of companies yet to publish carbon, waste and water data

One third of publicly traded companies in the UK do not publish performance data on a range of enviornmental indicators according the Environment Agency

Almost one third of companies listed on the London Stock Exchange are failing to provide quantitative data on their environmental impacts in their annual reports, the Environment Agency has found.

The agency assessed the 2011-12 annual reports and accounts of the 443 companies listed on the FTSE All-Share Index.

All listed companies’ annual reports must include a business review considering environmental and social issues "to the extent necessary for an understanding of the development, performance or position of the company's business”.
