A firm’s size makes little difference to how much it pays for waste offences, a study on corporate compliance has revealed.

Consultancy Trucost found almost no difference in average fines paid by large parent companies and small and medium-sized businesses for breaching their environmental permits. The average fine was £9,500 for both groups.
