CBI calls for renewed focus on energy efficiency

Both businesses and government need to increase their focus on energy efficiency to stop it being the “Cinderella of energy policy”, according to the CBI.

The body published a report on 28 August urging company boards to adopt action plans to improve energy efficiency both within their organisation and supply chains.

But it also urged the government to “redouble its efforts to deliver a coherent energy efficiency policy framework” and ensure finance is available to firms wanting to invest.
