SEPA’s decision to revoke the permit of a troubled energy-from-waste plant in Dargavel is being challenged

The operator of a troubled energy-from-waste plant in Dargavel, Dumfries, is challenging a decision by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) to revoke its permit.

Scotgen (Dumfries) Ltd was served with a revocation notice on 23 August for repeated non-compliance with permit conditions.

The notice, which requires the operator to avoid pollution, remove waste and return the site to a satisfactory state, came into effect on 23 September.
