Tesco forms buying club to help suppliers save energy

The club will give Tesco's suppliers access to lower cost energy efficiency equipment

Tesco has launched a buying club to help suppliers install energy-efficient lighting, the supermarket announced at a resource-efficiency conference in London on 27 September.

The club is a partnership between Tesco, the Carbon Trust and sustainability network 2degrees. Its membership comprises 700 companies in Tesco's supply chain. The club has developed from Tesco's Knowledge Hub, an online environmental best practice sharing network organised by 2degrees.
