Top firms perform poorly on supply chain carbon

Few UK companies are managing the business risks from the carbon intensity of their supply chain and customer lifestyles, a consultancy study has revealed.

Only four out of the UK's 100 largest listed companies do well at reducing carbon emissions from their supply chains, according to analysis by consultants Carbon Clear.

The study looked at carbon management by firms listed on the FTSE 100 of the London stock exchange. It focused on four areas: measurement and reporting, strategy, reduction and engagement. The analysis drew on information in sustainability and annual reports available in July 2013. The study is Carbon Clear's third annual assessment.
