UK firms want ‘one in, one out’ rule for new EU laws

A government-established business panel is calling for an overhaul of EU policymaking, but seems to have few problems with existing environmental policy

Europe should adopt a ‘one in, one out’ rule for new legislation – environmental or otherwise – according to a report from the government’s Business Taskforce issued on 15 October.

It should also ensure any new rules pass “a rigorous test to demonstrate that they will boost European competitiveness”.
