Mammoth consultation on electricity reform plans

The government has issued 682 pages of consultation documents about how its new energy subsidy schemes will operate, but this does not mark the end of the process

DECC is consulting on the detailed design of its electricity market reform (EMR) proposals. But the consultation reveals that more work is still needed on them, despite the system due to start operating next April.

The 288-page consultation was issued on 11 October.1 It is accompanied by 283 pages of supporting documents and 111 pages of draft secondary legislation.
