Green Deal growth still glacial

Latest DECC statistics show only weak growth of Green Deal sign ups and assessments despite the end of the summer lull

Uptake of the Green Deal loan scheme for home energy efficiency upgrades has continued to increase at a glacial pace, according to the latest statistics from DECC published 17 October. 

The latest data covering September revealed total Green Deal plans grew by just 277 to 954 compared to August. Of these, new deals accounted for 392, recovering modestly after slow growth during the summer months. Less than 6% of the total were plans that had gone live.
