Council regulation fees to stay frozen

Charges for local authority environmental regulation are being frozen for the third year running

Council fees for environmental regulation are being frozen for the third year running.

DEFRA has opened a consultation on charging as part of its regular review of the Local Air Pollution Prevention and Control (LAPPC) and Local Authority Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (LA-IPPC) schemes.

Last year, the department introduced harsher penalties for non-compliant firms alongside the fee freeze.
