Cameron calls for ‘roll back of green regulations and charges’

Renewable energy and energy efficiency policies could be under threat after the prime minister told parliament repeatedly he wanted to roll back green policies affecting energy bills

There must be a “roll back of green regulations and charges” to lower energy bills, David Cameron said on 23 October at Prime Minister’s Questions.

Cameron did not give any details of the regulations he wanted to roll back. But the comment will increase fears that Number 10’s review of green levies, announced earlier this month, will lead to significant changes in renewables and energy efficiency policy.
