Natural England queries offsets

With DEFRA pushing forward plans to introduce biodiversity offsetting, Natural England and others are finding out if they work.

Biodiversity offsets will be nature improvements provided in compensation for damage caused during development. But offsets will be measured in terms of tradable biodiversity ‘units’ using a standard scoring metric.
