CBI, investors cross swords

Should the government further encourage businesses to embrace corporate responsibility? The CBI and responsible investment campaigners ShareAction have opposing views.

The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has expressed scepticism over whether the government should encourage companies to take a more responsible approach to business, in contrast to responsible investment campaign group ShareAction.

The CBI’s comments come in response to a consultation by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) which closed at the end of September (ENDS Report 462, p41).
