Fridge survey puts retailers in the spotlight

Waitrose and the Co-op are among the leaders in the Environmental Investigation Agency’s latest annual green refrigeration survey, while Asda and Sainsbury’s failed to respond

Waitrose fridge. Credit: WaitroseThe Co-op, Waitrose, M&S and Tesco have been praised for making good progress on switching to climate-friendly refrigeration, according to a report by the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA).1

Iceland and Lidl did less well, while Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Asda failed to respond to the survey. The EIA’s survey raised responses from 21 retailers from across Europe.
