Firms failing to disclose full carbon impacts

The finance, industrial and consumer goods sectors should report the biggest sources of carbon in their value chain, according to CDP’s annual survey.

Companies in the global industrial, consumer goods and financial sectors are misleading investors on the full carbon impact of their businesses, the CDP’s annual survey has found.1

Environmental analyst CDP asked the largest 500 stock-exchange listed companies in the world to report their carbon footprint for 2013 and plans to cut emissions. More than 400 firms responded, but Apple, Amazon and Facebook were among the big names that did not.
