New quality protocol for recycled aggregates

The quality protocol for using inert waste in aggregates has been updated alongside an online tool for checking compliance

The rules on using inert waste to produce aggregates have been clarified in a new quality protocol published by the Environment Agency, the Northern Ireland Environment Agency and the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP).

The new document updates the original quality protocol, published in 2004, which dealt with the production of recycled aggregates from inert construction, demolition and excavation waste.
