Green leaders ranked on communications ability

Companies with good sustainability plans could do better at communicating and engaging with customers on environmental and social issues, say consultants

Ford, HP and Natura are among the top firms leading on communicating their sustainability programmes, according to an assessment by consultants Salter Baxter.

Honda, Sims Metal Management and Statoil did much less well in the rankings.

The consultants assessed 30 firms with reputations for environmental and ethical performance in 2013. Half of the companies came top of the Corporate Knights sustainability ranking, while the other half came top in Interbrand's green brands index.
