South West Water fined £50k for sewage spill

A water company has been prosecuted for polluting beaches in south Devon with sewage during the busy tourist season

The water firm appeared before Torquay magistrates court on 13 November where it admitted breaching sections 12 and 38 of the Environmental Permitting (England & Wales) Regulations 2010. It was fined £50,000 with £10,300 costs.
