Campaigners challenge palm oil roundtable

The Forest Peoples Programme has released a report accusing RSPO members of clearing land despite opposition from local communities.

Campaigners have published more evidence that members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm are failing to meet commitments to stop deforestation and respect human rights in southeast Asia.

The Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) has released a 428-page report cataloguing cases where palm oil growers in countries like Indonesia have violated the rights of indigenous peoples by clearing land for new plantations.1 Many of the companies involved are members of the RSPO.
