Routemap to 2015 deal saves Warsaw climate talks

UN Warsaw climate talks have made enough progress to keep hopes for a 2015 global agreement alive. But consensus is fragile and most of the work has yet to be done

Parties to the UN climate convention meeting in Warsaw have agreed on a crucial timetable and work plan that will guide negotiations on the text of a global climate agreement for 2020. The agreement must be finalised in Paris in 2015.

Agreement came after a gruelling 40-hour session stretching into the day after the conference was due to end. And there was an unprecedented walk-out by NGOs in protest at the lack of concrete results during the fractious talks.
