‘Golden rule’ threatens success of Green Deal

Sustainability and energy efficiency experts have called for radical measures to save the Green Deal

The ailing Green Deal home energy efficiency scheme could be reinvigorated by allowing householders to borrow more, says a new report. 

The report from sustainability charity Bioregional and the Association for the Conservation of Energy (ACE) finds that the most serious problem with the Green Deal “concerns a funding gap caused by its so-called ‘Golden Rule’”.
