Northern Ireland goes for asset recovery over fines

Northern Ireland’s Department of the Environment has produced its first compliance report which shows the importance of proceeds of crime cases

More money is made from proceeds of crime orders in Northern Ireland than from environmental fines, data from the country’s environment department confirms.

It is the first time Northern Ireland has reported its overall performance in this way. The report will now be published annually.
