Scotland launches £100,000 waste fund

SMEs will be able to apply for support through a new fund to develop waste technologies

The Scottish government has set up a £100,000 fund to help small and medium-sized firms (SMEs) develop technologies to cut waste and greenhouse gas emissions from waste.

The SME Waste Prevention Innovation Fund will support Scotland’s zero-waste plan by ensuring as much waste as possible can be prevented, reused or recycled (ENDS Report 425, pp 45-46).1

The fund will be managed by Zero Waste Scotland and comes as the winners of earlier rounds were unveiled. These include projects that secured more than £240,000:
