£56m funding boost for low-carbon vehicles

The Technology Strategy Board is supporting 17 projects that aim to cut transport carbon emissions and improve take-up of efficient vehicles.

Seventeen research, development and validation projects will share a £56m pot aimed at cutting carbon emissions from road transport and speeding up the commercialisation of low-carbon vehicles.

The project is being managed through the Technology Strategy Board’s (TSB) ‘Low-carbon vehicles innovation platform’, which has secured £300m since it began in 2007. It aims to help reduce supply chain costs and speed up the adoption of new technologies on UK roads. In particular, it focuses on pulling technology through various stages of innovation.
