Environment Agency accepts 14 undertakings on packaging

Fourteen companies breached the packaging regulations in recent months and have avoided Environment Agency prosecution through enforcement undertakings

The Environment Agency accepted 14 enforcement undertakings from companies between August and October this year, all for breaches of packaging regulations.

The undertakings secured over £164,000 in donations to environmental charities and good causes.

The largest donation was £30,431 made by bakery products manufacturer CSM (UK) Ltd to the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. This was followed by £23,500 to the Ribble Catchment Conservation Trust from Lancashire furniture business Furnico Ltd and another of £21,000 split between the South Cumbria Rivers Trust and Nurture Lakeland from stone supplier Burlington Slate Ltd.
