The Green Deal will save far less carbon than expected, it has emerged.

The energy and climate department (DECC) expects the government’s flagship home energy efficiency scheme to now save only 0.7 million tonnes of CO2 a year by 2020. This is down 13% from 0.94MtCO2/yr assumed in the Green Deal’s impact assessment five months ago (ENDS Report 449, pp 35-36).
