Work has begun on a ‘blue water’ footprint inventory for a range of raw materials used in the manufacturing sector.

Consultantancy Sustain was awarded more than £76,000 by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) in June for a six-month feasibility project to set up an embodied water content database (ENDS Report 450, p 22).

Dr Craig Jones, who is leading the project, told ENDS Sustain is compiling more than 1,000 water footprints for industrial raw materials.
