Businesses and public sector bodies in Northern Ireland can now claim subsidies for renewable heat

Renewable heat incentive rates, Northern IrelandBusinesses and public sector bodies in Northern Ireland can now claim subsidies for renewable heat from sources such as biomass boilers.

The Northern Ireland Renewable Heat Incentive, overseen by Ofgem, opened for applications on 1 November.

It will pay owners of renewables a tariff for each unit of heat they generate for 20 years (see table).
