More chemicals to be assessed under REACH

A longer list of substances to be assessed for their potential health and environmental risks has been put forward by the European Chemicals Agency

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published an expanded list of 116 substances to be evaluated for health and environmental risks under the EU REACH regime for chemicals.

The draft second Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP) lists substances that member states must examine during 2013-15.1 The latest list is significantly longer than the first which included 90 chemicals for evaluation during 2012-14 (ENDS Report 446, pp 40-41).
